Synopsis

In 2008, the Second Battalion, Seventh Marine Regiment operated in Afghanistan, covering an area the size of Oregon. The battalion, with 1,200 members, faced intense combat against insurgents while lacking air support and experiencing supply shortages. They often ran low on food, water, and ammunition due to military cutbacks. After returning home, many veterans struggled with mental health issues. Their suicide rate is about four times higher than that of other young veterans and 14 times the national average.
