Synopsis

Forest elephants, distinct from their savanna counterparts, play a crucial role in maintaining the biodiversity of their habitats. In the Central African rainforest, a gathering of 40 to 100 forest elephants is observed, highlighting their social structure, which is predominantly female. Notable individuals include Lean, a mother of three calves, who exemplifies the strong family bonds within the herd.
