Synopsis

A U.S. Army sergeant recounts two distinct stories before his deployment to Iraq. One narrative unfolds in Bavaria, detailing his relationship with a German girl who engages in self-mutilation and seeks thrills. The second story occurs outside Baghdad, centering on a roadside bomb and a tragic mistake. Omer Fast interweaves these accounts into a screenplay, which actors interpret through a series of silent tableaux in his 2007 video installation, The Casting.
