The Architect Carla

Synopsis

Carla, a novice architect in mid-1960s Northern Italy, supervises construction sites for public works in the countryside. She collaborates with a team of engineers who are confined to a laboratory, creating scale models of buildings and landscapes. As their work becomes increasingly isolating, Carla's motivation wanes. She longs to connect with the world outside, dreaming of tearing down walls to embrace the sky, while her colleagues remain detached from the sunlight and life beyond their models.
