On a Libyan beach in February 2015, 21 Coptic Christians were executed by ISIS after refusing to convert to Islam. The 13-minute animated short, The 21, retells their story through a visual style inspired by traditional Coptic iconography. Directed by Tod Polson, the film involved over 70 artists from 24 countries and was produced by MORE Productions. It honors the victims, who were declared martyrs by the Coptic Orthodox Church in 2015 and the Catholic Church in 2023.
