What is The 19th Amendment about?
The 19th Amendment is a short documentary. In 1848, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott organized the first Women's Rights Convention in Seneca Falls, New York, presenting the Declaration of Sentiments, which asserted that "all men and women are created equal." Despite this pivotal moment, women in the United States would wait another 70 years for the right to vote. Following the ratification of the 15th Amendment in 1870, which granted voting rights to black men but excluded women, Stanton and Susan B. Anthony founded the National Women's Suffrage Association to advocate for a constitutional amendment for women's suffrage.
