Synopsis
Li Ning, a performance artist in China, documents five years of his life as he strives for success in the avant-garde art scene. He juggles the demands of his family-his wife, son, and mother-with the chaos of leading a guerilla dance troupe. As he records his experiences, the act of taping becomes integral to his existence. "Tape" employs various techniques, including experimental street video and CGI, to challenge traditional documentary forms while reflecting on personal and artistic struggles.
