Synopsis

Kevin Vigilante, a doctor with no prior political experience, enters the competitive arena of American politics by challenging Patrick Kennedy, the youngest son of Ted Kennedy. Set against the backdrop of a heated campaign, Vigilante aims for a clean fight but quickly faces a barrage of negative advertisements. As John F. Kennedy Jr. signs autographs outside polling stations, Vigilante realizes that to compete, he must abandon his principles. Taking on the Kennedys aired in 1996 as part of PBS' P.O.V. series.
