Synopsis
In Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the Jersey Hammerheads swim team trains under the guidance of parent volunteers Michael and Maria McQuay. The team consists entirely of teenagers on the autism spectrum. Swim Team follows three athletes as they face challenges in the pool and in their daily lives. The film addresses their transitions to adulthood and the experiences of their families. Directed by Lara Stolman, it premiered at the 2016 Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival and was released in theaters on July 7, 2017.
