Synopsis
In the American West, remnants of all-black towns founded after the Civil War struggle to survive. These communities emerged with the hope of establishing an all-black state. Today, many have been absorbed by surrounding counties, while others fight to maintain their identity and independence. Struggle & Hope features the stories of the last residents of these towns, detailing their efforts to preserve their heritage and aspirations for a brighter future. The film runs for 65 minutes and was released in 2017.
