Urban slums formed in South Korea as people migrated from impoverished rural areas. Many worked as day laborers due to a lack of formal education and assets. As redevelopment progressed, residents lost their homes. In 1990, over 20 individuals from these communities committed suicide. Standing on the Edge of Death presents their struggles and the circumstances that led to this tragic event. The film runs for 29 minutes and addresses the challenges faced by those living in extreme poverty.
