Synopsis

In Heidelberg, 1970, doctor Wolfgang Huber founded the Socialist Patients' Collective (SPK) to challenge traditional psychiatric practices. The group began as a self-organized therapy experiment, merging Hegelian philosophy with patient activism. As the SPK radicalized, members faced legal repercussions, leading some to go underground and connect with the Red Army Faction. The movement questions the relationship between mental health and political activism, addressing how societal structures influence personal and collective trauma.
