Synopsis

In the summer of 1957, four-year-old Gaby arrived in Sandefjord from West Berlin to spend time with a host family. She was one of approximately 70,000 German children sent to Norway and Sweden after World War II as part of a reconciliation program. Filmmaker Linn Helene Løken investigates her mother's involvement in this initiative. While the program aimed to foster goodwill, the experiences of these children were not uniformly positive, revealing complexities in the aftermath of the war.
