Synopsis

Julie Lay, a former agriculture and food safety professional, became alarmed when her family detected a foul odor in their Alabama home. The smell reminded her husband, a first responder, of dead bodies. Concerned about the source, Lay began an investigation into the application of waste by-products, including treated human sewage and poultry processing waste, on farmland across the United States. The documentary questions the regulatory measures in place and the potential toxins that may contaminate the food grown in this soil.
