Synopsis
A homeless man in Tapgol Park, Jongno, approaches director Lee Dongwoo one morning, asking for money while intoxicated. He frequently finds himself in and out of detention and references filmmakers like Bresson and Ozu. He claims to have been invited to the Venice International Film Festival and the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival with his own film, Self-Portrait 2000. Self-Portrait 2020 documents their unusual friendship and pays homage to a once-promising young director from two decades ago.
