Synopsis

Sand urchins and rock urchins are examined in detail, showcasing their unique biological features. At a seashore, a man excavates a sand urchin, which burrows back into the sand, utilizing its intestines to extract nutrients. Magnified 200,000 times, the spines of a rock urchin reveal suckers that aid in feeding. The film highlights the three-fingered jaws, known as pedicellaria, that capture algae, and the constant motion of cilia, measuring less than 0.001 millimeters, which create whirlpools. Occasional French titles provide additional context.
