Synopsis
In towns across Spain, celebrations known as Fiestas honor the Holy Virgin and various Patron Saints. Each year, around 16,000 of these events occur, involving entire communities, including children. During these festivities, approximately 60,000 animals suffer severe cruelty. Religious and political authorities endorse these practices, referred to as 'Fiestas of Blood.' The documentary questions the ethics of these traditions, contrasting the festive atmosphere with the treatment of animals. Directed by Miguel Ángel Rollan, "Santa Fiesta" runs for 74 minutes.
