Synopsis
Pippo Delbono and Giovanni Senzani reconnect in late 2011, reflecting on their past with violence and revolutionary dreams against the backdrop of a fractured Italy. As they contemplate a project together, personal tragedy strikes. Pippo rushes to his ailing mother, a devout Catholic, while Giovanni's wife, Anna, falls ill after his release from prison. Both women die within days of each other, leaving Pippo and Giovanni feeling orphaned. Meanwhile, L'Aquila, devastated by an earthquake, stands abandoned, a city waiting for renewal.
