Synopsis

Salma, a young girl in a Tamil Nadu village, faces 25 years of confinement imposed by her family. Denied education and forced into an arranged marriage, she secretly writes poetry on scraps of paper. Her determination leads her to send her work to a publisher, eventually gaining recognition as a Tamil poet. Through her writing, Salma challenges the traditions of her community and takes significant steps toward personal freedom. Directed by Kim Longinotto, the documentary runs for 90 minutes.
