Edith Goldenhar visits Calais, nearly 80 years after her mother, Paulette, fled Belgium during the Nazi invasion. Paulette survived as a teenage refugee, sheltered by a stranger during the city's bombing. Goldenhar honors this act of kindness by retracing her mother's steps. In Calais, she finds that the spirit of humanitarian aid continues. The 15-minute documentary reflects on past and present acts of compassion in a city marked by conflict.
