Synopsis
Northern Botswana's bush country serves as the backdrop for "Reflections on Elephants," directed by Beverly Joubert and Dereck Joubert. Over two years, the filmmakers document the behavior of Africa's largest free-roaming elephant herds. The film captures rare moments, including the adoption of an abandoned infant and the organized rescue of a calf in distress. It also features the emotional mourning of bull elephants for a deceased companion and an unexpected encounter between a young elephant and adolescent lions.
