Synopsis

Dmitry Muratov, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and one of the last independent journalists in Russia, faces increasing threats to press freedom under President Vladimir Putin's regime. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the government has intensified its crackdown on journalists, labeling many as "foreign agents" and imposing severe penalties for dissent. This documentary provides unique access to Muratov's efforts to sustain his independent newspaper, Novaya Gazeta, while protecting his team from the escalating repression of independent reporting in Russia.
