Synopsis
At a high school gym in a small American town, students prepare for one of the most memorable nights of their lives: prom. From 2006 to 2009, filmmaker Martin Bell and photographer Mary Ellen Mark traveled to twelve high schools across ten cities. They documented the event through portraits taken with a 20x24 Polaroid camera and interviews conducted in an adjacent studio. By the end of the project, Bell had spoken with over three hundred students about their hopes and dreams for the future.
