Synopsis

Hakipu’u, a kīpuka of traditional knowledge on O’ahu, is home to the Fukumitsu ‘Ohana, a family dedicated to the practice of taro farming. As urbanization transforms much of the island, this family preserves their generational agricultural methods. The documentary captures their connection to the land, where great chiefs once lived and their remains still rest. Through their work, the Fukumitsu family maintains a vital link to their heritage and the history of their ancestors.
