Synopsis

In July 1998, the AUC paramilitaries carry out massacres across Colombia, targeting those labeled as guerrilla sympathizers. Refugees recount horrific tales of violence, stating, 'They cut people's heads off. Many people were disembowelled. They are laying down the seeds of terror.' The documentary tracks the paramilitaries to a wealthy ranch that serves as their training base. With support from affluent ranchers, the AUC, led by Carlos Castano, successfully defeats guerrilla forces, further entrenching a cycle of violence in the region.
