Synopsis
Mahmoud Darwish and Ismail Shammout are among the voices featured in "Palestinian Identity." The film documents the aftermath of the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon and the destruction of cultural and educational centers in Beirut. It shows the charred remains of buildings from which Israelis removed films, photographs, and manuscripts. Interviews with key figures in the Palestinian cultural scene provide context to the losses experienced after the Palestine Liberation Organization's departure from the city. The documentary runs for 38 minutes.
