Synopsis

Carlos Mugica worked in Villa 31 de Retiro, an area that became synonymous with his community efforts. As an Argentine priest associated with the Movement of Priests for the Third World, he dedicated his life to social activism during the 1960s and 1970s. His commitment to the poor led to criticism, death threats, and multiple assassination attempts. Mugica was ultimately killed in 1974, with the Argentine Anti-Communist Alliance, known as "Triple A," blamed for his murder.
