Synopsis
Thirteen individuals from around the world create avatars to express themselves in the VR Metaverse. They navigate their disabilities through artistic projects and community building. Researchers Donna Davis and Tom Boellstorff conclude a three-year study on these experiences. The film combines physical and virtual cinematography, using Machinima to reenact the participants' stories. "Our Digital Selves: My Avatar is me." runs for 74 minutes and presents a unique perspective on human interaction in digital spaces.
