Synopsis

Oscar Rabin, a prominent artist, lived through three decades of Soviet history. His story illustrates resistance against an oppressive regime through art. The film features archival materials and newsreels, many presented for the first time. Alongside Rabin, notable figures such as Lyudmila Ulitskaya and Vladimir Sorokin share their insights. The documentary addresses themes of inner freedom and the limits of compromise in a restrictive society. It runs for 90 minutes and was released in 2018.
