Synopsis
Kenneth Wong stands at the Oriental Silk emporium in Los Angeles, the first Chinese silk importing business in the United States after World War II. Established over forty years ago, the shop reflects on the histories of migration in the twentieth century. It also critiques the American Dream. Wong shares insights on the craftsmanship of silk, linking human pursuits across time and borders. The documentary runs for 30 minutes and is part of a larger project of the same name.
