Synopsis

Jamal al-Sati, a fighter for Lebanon’s National Resistance Front, recorded an unedited tape of his martyr testimony. This footage forms the basis of the multi-media performance Three Posters, created by Mroué and Lebanese novelist Elias Khoury. First performed in Beirut in 2000, the work presents three takes of al-Sati's testimony, contrasting them with the version broadcast on Lebanese television. The film questions the role of martyr posters and suicide videos within Lebanon's visual culture and political history.
