Okpik's Dream is a documentary about Harry Okpik, an Inuk man from Quaqtaq. The film recounts his experiences witnessing the government slaughter of Inuit sled dogs during his childhood and his later loss of a leg in a hunting accident. Now, he prepares to compete in the 600 km Ivakkak sled dog race in Nunavik.
The film was released in 2015 and primarily distributed as a CBC Television special. It aired as part of the regional documentary series Absolutely Canadian. The film received recognition, winning a Community Award at the 2015 First Peoples' Festival in Montreal and being nominated for Best Documentary Program at the 4th Canadian Screen Awards.
