Synopsis

Marqués de Almodóvar, a passionate figure in Spanish folklore, dedicated his life to the copla, a traditional music genre. He organized folkloric festivals under Franco's regime and collected memorabilia from cante divas to create a sentimental museum in his crumbling castle. After his death in a pension, a dispute over his legacy arose between his last mistress, a cupletist, and his housekeeper. The film weaves through his extravagant life, anchored by the song "Ojos Verdes," a highlight of his rich songbook.
