Synopsis
Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, lay in ruins during the summer of 1994, divided by conflict into a Croatian-majority west and a Muslim-majority east. An invisible wall separated the two communities, remnants of two civil wars in just three years. In response, the European Union appointed Hans Koschnick as municipal administrator. His mission was to restore a sense of community and cooperation in a city fractured by violence and division.
