Synopsis

Eight dancers perform on a stage surrounded by six screens in a video installation by Ragnar Kjartansson, choreographer Margrét Bjarnadóttir, and composer Bryce Dessner. The installation features spatial music played on eight guitars, recorded from the center of the performance area. Movements and melodies shift between styles, from pastorale to rock and roll. The work incorporates elements from classic Western culture, including blue jeans, white t-shirts, and references to the Greek poet Sappho and adventurer Vivant Denon.
