Martina Melilli stands in her grandparents’ home near Padova, Italy, where she finds a map that reveals her family's history. Her grandfather, Antonio, was born in Tripoli, Libya, during the Italian colonial period and married Narcisa there. After fleeing Libya in 1970 due to Gaddafi’s coup, the family lost touch with their roots. To reconnect, Martina uses social media to communicate with a young Libyan, exchanging images of her grandparents’ hometown and bridging the gaps between their lives.
