Synopsis
In 1957, a queue forms outside Tel Aviv’s Cinema North for the screening of “A Man Escaped.” Among those waiting are a young Holocaust survivor who turns to crime, an Italian-Jewish engineer eager to see the film, and a German Christian who forgives her husband’s murderer due to her Buddhist beliefs. Their lives intertwine with a Jewish woman who has an affair with a Nazi and betrays resistance members to protect her family. The scene erupts when two bullets are fired into the crowd.
