Synopsis

Monrovia, Indiana captures the daily life of a small farming community in central Indiana. Through scenes of community meetings, church gatherings, and local events, the film presents the values of duty, service, and spirituality that shape the town's identity. Frederick Wiseman directs this 143-minute documentary, which features only the sounds of the community without a musical score or narration. Premiering at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2018, it offers a perspective on rural American life often overlooked by urban centers.
