Miryam Charles stands at the forefront of experimental cinema in Quebec. Her film combines spoken and sung words to reflect her history and that of her immigrant ancestors. This six-minute piece is part of a new initiative aimed at promoting filmmakers from Quebec’s immigrant community. Gabriela de Andrade and Alexandre Paskanoi are the first laureates of this program. Their work represents a growing recognition of diverse voices in the arts.
