Synopsis

At a Milwaukee high school football field, players from two schools unite for the season. One school is urban and predominantly black, while the other is suburban and mostly white. As they combine their programs due to declining participation, tensions rise. The athletes confront the differences between their backgrounds and communities. Throughout the season, they navigate their teenage years amid the racial divides that affect their lives. Directed by Emily Kuester, Messwood runs for 95 minutes.
