Synopsis
Margot Dias traveled to northern Mozambique between 1958 and 1961, participating in four ethnographic missions. She recorded hundreds of minutes of visual and sound material documenting Makonde culture. The film traces her life from her youth in Germany during the 1920s to her marriage with Portuguese ethnologist Jorge Dias. In present-day Mozambique, she reconnects with the Makonde people, returning the images she captured and reflecting on her experiences as a filmmaker.
