In Trás-os-Montes, northeastern Portugal, 22 villagers join forces to buy a used railroad bridge. Their goal is to connect their isolated community to the outside world. The documentary shows their efforts to overcome geographical and social barriers. It records their struggles and aspirations as they work together to improve their lives.
