Synopsis

Helena Citron arrives at Auschwitz during World War II, where she forms a complex relationship with Franz Wunsch, a high-ranking SS officer. His actions create a precarious balance between protection and danger for her. Thirty years later, Helena receives a letter from Wunsch's wife, asking her to testify on his behalf. This request forces Helena to confront her past and the moral implications of supporting a man who saved her life while being complicit in the suffering of many others.
