Synopsis
In Wukan, a village in southern China, residents took action in 2011 against corrupt local officials. They successfully ousted these officials and held their own elections. "Lost Course" follows three leaders from this grassroots movement as they face renewed corruption and the challenges of self-governance. The film captures their efforts to maintain integrity and pursue democracy in a difficult political environment. Directed by Jill Li, it runs for 179 minutes and features dialogue in Cantonese and Mandarin.
