Synopsis

Disibodenberg, a former monastery, served as a home for 12th-century abbess Hildegard von Bingen. She created a secret language known as lingua ignota, the purpose of which remains uncertain. The film intertwines an audio-visual diary with research into Hildegard's life, including her contributions to music and botany. It features imagery from her monastery, visits to friends on a Danish island, and the changing seasons, all connected by the theme of an unknown language that shapes the visual narrative.
