Synopsis

A group of teenagers in a post-industrial mill community use a Canon XL1 3-CCD MiniDV camera to document their surroundings. With access to the darkroom at the Sun Journal, where Aaron’s father worked as the visuals editor, they experiment with techniques inspired by filmmakers like Robert Frank and Frederick Wiseman. The 10-minute film reflects their youthful curiosity and the cultural influences of the early 2000s, including the rise of low-bandwidth internet and the early days of Netflix.
