Let's All Hate Toronto

Synopsis

Mr. Toronto, co-director Rob Spence, begins his cross-Canada tour in Hamilton after spotting a billboard that reads "Toronto Sucks." He promotes a fake "Toronto Appreciation Day" while encountering hostility in cities like St. John's and Halifax, where locals spit on his banner. In Montreal, a comedy troupe performs a song mocking Toronto. The film lists the top ten reasons for Canada's disdain, including envy and pollution. Ultimately, Mr. Toronto dons a bag over his head at Nuit Blanche, only to receive unexpected affection from Torontonians, leading him to reconsider his city's reputation.
