The injury, a result of chronic stress, prompts him to reconsider his troubled relationship with sports, influenced by childhood bullying linked to his effeminate behavior. To investigate how his experiences might differ as a heterosexual man, he contacts Club Muxes, Mexico's only LGBTQ+ soccer team. Their phone conversations, paired with visuals from the club, connect his past struggles with personal healing and identity.
