During this period of political upheaval, the embassy became a refuge for hundreds of people fleeing violence. Carmen Castillo uses de Menthon's writings and personal testimonies to depict the experiences of embassy officials and the challenges they faced. The film addresses the conflict between humanistic values and bureaucratic constraints in a time of crisis.
