Synopsis

At Guruvayur Temple in Kerala, a troupe from Guruvayur Devasvam performs Krishnattam, a ritualistic art form dedicated to the deity Krishna. The performance is based on Krishnagiti, a Sanskrit text composed by the Zamorin King Manavedan in 1654. Over eight days, the narrative unfolds through a series of eight plays, including Avataram and Kamsavadham, combining songs, dance, and acting to depict stories from the Bhagavata, Mahabharata, and Harivamsha.
